Sorry I couldn't get this up before we left :-(


I'm Donna.
I'm a double major in History and Classical Studies with a minor in Poli. Sci.
I hope to be a human rights lawyer someday.
I wanted to come to Poland because it's a country that i do not know much about, and I've never really heard of many people visiting it.
I'm most looking forward to visiting Zakopane. I'm really interested in the woodworking and how intricate it all is.

Arrival and Dinner

WITAMY from WARSAW :)

We have officially arrived at appx. 2PM Poland time today. Our flights went very well, with only one with a slight delay, and of course we had to make some trips across the the airports to reach our terminals. Some of the smoothest flights I have ever had. And for the most part of the flight from Frankfurt to Warsaw, we were able to see the land and geography (I think I spotted some snow!), which made the flight go by fast and it's also fun to see all the agriculture along with forestation happening side by side.

We went out to a Polish dinner tonight. All I can saw - WHOA FOOD! And it was delicious! We had about 5 courses - perogies, a soup with kelbasa and eggs, salad, a dish with potatoes and pork, and then dessert (crepes!). It was all very very good!!! If this is the food for the rest of the trip - I am going to be eating a lot! We were all very full by the end of the dinner! And now we are going to sleep to try and catch up on the sleep we are missing from the time change!

Tomorrow - off to a walking tour of the Old City.

Hey Everyone! My name is Jessica Phillips and I am a sophomore, majoring in Adolescent Education and Biology. I am not sure yet if I want to be a teacher or go to grad school, but I decided to complete both majors in order to keep my options open. Hopefully I will be able to make up my mind soon!
To my knowledge, I do not have any Polish ancestry... there could quite possibly be some there somewhere... I am a mix of many various nationalities. :) Even though I do not need this class as part of either of my majors, I decided to take the course because I'm interested in learning about the Holocaust. I do not know that there is a specific part of the trip that I am looking most forward to... I am excited about everything! :)

Hello all! I am Maggie and I am a junior this year. I am a History major. Like Kimmy, I am also 50% Polish, so my entire family is very excited for me to go as well! I am very excited to see more of the world, and seeing any part of Poland is exciting. I am especially excited to see where my heritage comes from in the Zakopane region, as well as seeing another ocean, the Baltic Sea! I can't wait to head out on Saturday!

Hi all, my name is Kate and I'm a sophmore at EC . . . good times. I'm an International Studies major with a minor in Political Science. I'm not at all Polish but I was there a few years back and LOVED IT more than I can possibly say and am incredibly psyched to return!!!! I'm looking forward to revisiting places I saw before, such as Krakow and Auschwitz, and seeing new places, such as Warsaw and Gdansk. Sites that deal with the Holocaust I'm especially looking forward to seeing (as much as one can possibly "look forward" to seeing Holocaust stuff . . . hopefully you know what I mean . . . ) because I plan to pursue something involving Holocaust research/memorial work as a career (somewhat depressing, I know . . . I promise I'm not a depressing person though :). But basically I'm just really excited to leave on Saturday!!

My name is Chelsea and i am a sophmore at EC. My major is Business Administration with a concentration in Managment and Theatrical Production (i know a mouthful). I am most looking forward to seeing Auschwitz and ...well for that matter all of the places we are going. I am an world traveler and like to experience the culture of the country. Hello! I am Kristin, I major in history and education. I am a sophomore at EC, and much like Mandula (I do not know where the nickname came from... sounds cool though, right?), I am really excited for Poland because it will be my only term III trip due to my majors. I am also not at all Polish, however, I am fascinated by all things history, especially when it comes to the World Wars. In this way, I believe visiting Poland will be a very interesting and exciting experience for me. I am sure this will not be the only time you hear from me, I look forward to telling you all about our travels.
